Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) 3rd Shift
Pay: $28.00/hour
Hours: 10:00 PM 6:30 AM | Scheduled days off | Must be available to work weekends

Overview
Bimbo Bakeries USA is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician (Mechanic) to support production and facility equipment at its Rockwall bakery. This position is responsible for preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical systems to maintain equipment reliability and minimize production downtime.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience troubleshooting production machinery, electrical and mechanical systems, motors, instrumentation, and PLC-controlled equipment in a manufacturing environment.
Job Description
  • Perform preventative maintenance (PM) to improve equipment reliability and reduce unscheduled downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair mechanical and electrical issues on production machinery and facility support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment, motors, instrumentation, electrical distribution systems, and feed control systems.
  • Inspect, operate, and test machinery to diagnose malfunctions and verify completed repairs.
  • Support production equipment changeovers and line startups and troubleshoot issues as needed.
  • Complete assigned maintenance work orders within required timeframes.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, preventative maintenance, work orders, and equipment activity.
  • Identify required replacement parts and assist with maintaining parts inventories and reorder lists.
  • Develop sustainable solutions for recurring equipment problems.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and team projects.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), OSHA standards, GMPs, food safety requirements, and personal safety procedures.
  • Support production operations while maintaining established product quality standards.
Required Skills
  • Mechanical and electrical maintenance and troubleshooting experience.
  • Experience repairing and maintaining production or manufacturing equipment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot PLC-controlled equipment.
  • Knowledge of motors, instrumentation, electrical systems, and mechanical systems.
  • Preventative maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical information to diagnose equipment problems.
  • Ability to safely use ladders, manlifts, and scissor lifts at elevated heights.
  • Ability to work in a non-air-conditioned manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to lift 50 80 lbs.
  • Ability to stand for 8+ hours and frequently walk, reach, bend, climb, kneel, crouch, and perform repetitive movements.
  • Ability to work around oils, grease, coolants, heat, humidity, vibration, and other conditions associated with an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • Strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Must be available to work weekends and scheduled days based on production needs.
