Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to support plant operations in Madison, NC. This is a direct hire opportunity working a 12-hour 3rd shift on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule (6:45 PM 7:00 AM).
The Maintenance Technician will play a key role in ensuring equipment reliability by performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs across a variety of industrial systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance, repairs, and project work orders
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical systems
- Perform breakdown maintenance to minimize equipment downtime
- Work with PLCs and automated systems
- Communicate effectively with team members across departments
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of Lockout/Tagout (LO/TO)
- Assist in other maintenance or production roles as needed
- Safe use of welders, torches, saws, cutting tools, and hand tools
- Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
- Ability to use a computer for maintenance tracking and job functions
- Understanding of plant equipment operations and systems
- Experience in industrial maintenance or manufacturing environment
- Ability to read and complete maintenance work orders
- Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, and PLC systems
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Valid North Carolina drivers license
- Valid forklift certification (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to learn and support multiple roles across the plant
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Frequent bending, stooping, and twisting
- Ability to work in an industrial manufacturing environment
- Required to wear PPE, including hard hat, safety glasses, and steel-toe boots
- 3rd Shift: 6:45 PM 7:00 AM
- 12-hour shifts on a 2-2-3 rotating schedule
- Overtime may be required based on production needs
