    Maintenance Technician

    Overview

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance on manufacturing equipment, facility systems, and production support infrastructure used in the fabrication of metal roofing products. This role focuses on minimizing downtime, improving equipment reliability, and supporting safe, efficient plant operations.

    Ideal candidates will have prior experience in hydraulics, pneumatics, mechanical, and facilities maintenance roles. Prior experience with 480-volt electrical systems is a plus. This facility involves metal manufacturing, so prior manufacturing experience is desired.

    Main job functions will involve maintaining production machinery (not a production line, performing PM's and emergency repairs, forklift maintenance and repair, while being responsible for any facilities maintenance issues (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)

    Some of the machines we maintain include roll formers, slitters, presses, shears, forklifts, and wrapping equipment.

    Schedule:

    Monday-Friday (8am-430pm or 9am-530pm- can vary based upon business needs)

    On call requirements which could include possibly coming in on overnight shift. On call requirement is based on emergency related issues.

    Overtime as necessary.

    Maintenance Technician Key Responsibilities

    • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on production equipment including (roll formers, slitters, presses, shears, forklifts, and wrapping equipment).

    • Utilize Upkeep software to create, track, and finalize work orders and PM's.

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

    • Inspect, repair, and maintain motors, bearings, drive systems, conveyors, and control panels.

    • Assist with equipment setup, calibration, and changeovers for production runs.

    • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, work orders, and inspection records.

    • Maintain facility systems including lighting, HVAC, air compressors, and water systems

    • Support upkeep of building structures, roofing, and plant safety systems

    • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company safety policies

    • Follow lockout/tagout (LOTO), electrical safety, and confined space procedures

    • Conduct equipment safety inspections and report hazards promptly

    • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability and safety

    • Collaborate with production teams to resolve equipment issues efficiently

    • Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new machinery

    • Coordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and parts

    • Source manufacturers and place orders for tooling, equipment, and maintenance materials

    • Perform preventive maintenance and in‑house repairs on forklifts to minimize downtime

    • Assist with maintaining company fleet including Conestoga trailers, Moffitts, and related vehicles

    Maintenance Technician Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred

    • Minimum of 3 years of industrial or manufacturing maintenance experience

    • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems

    • Experience with PLC troubleshooting, programming, and HMI systems

    • Familiarity with CNC controls, extruders, and industrial automation equipment

    • Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals

    • Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills

    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and perform manual maintenance tasks

    • Ability to stand, bend, climb, and work on equipment for extended periods

    • Comfortable working in industrial environments with heat, noise, and varying conditions

    • Full‑time role with potential for rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, or on‑call support
