Maintenance Technician (Industrial)
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Akron, Ohio. This is a great opportunity for an experienced, hands-on industrial maintenance professional who can handle all-around maintenance in a manufacturing environment. Biggest needs are experience with boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic pumps, along with strong mechanical troubleshooting and the ability to support facility systems (a little electrical, some plumbing, etc.). In this role, youll work across industrial systems and processing equipmenthelping prevent downtime through repairs, troubleshooting, and preventative maintenance.

Hours: 6am 2pm or 5am 1pm (hours may fluctuate; winter months may require earlier start times to get boilers running)
Pay: $25.00 $30.00 per hour, based on experience and capabilities
Key Responsibilities- Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial systems and components including motors, pumps, bearings, gearboxes, conveyors, hydraulic systems, and cooling systems
- Perform maintenance and repairs on industrial processing equipment such as extruders and pelletizers across a large industrial campus
- Troubleshoot and support key systems including boilers, air compressors, and hydraulic pumps
- Conduct piping/plumbing, welding, hose fabrication, and mechanical troubleshooting
- Maintain building systems such as electrical, HVAC, plumbing, compressed air, lighting, and fire protection systems
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM)
- Collaborate with the internal maintenance team and assist third-party vendors when required
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized workspace
Minimum Requirements- 10-15 years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic systems
- Strong mechanical aptitude (motors, pumps, hydraulics, equipment repair)
- Experience working with industrial electrical systems (120V, 240V, 480V), VFDs, and motor controls
- Ability to weld and perform plumbing/piping work
- Experience with preventative maintenance
- Familiarity with hand and power tools
- Reliable, safety-conscious, and detail-oriented
Nice to Have Skills- Experience in a chemical processing / plastics / rubber manufacturing environment
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and ability to work independently
- Experience supporting boiler start-up / winterization routines
Other Requirements- Must be able to work in an industrial/manufacturing environment and follow all safety policies
- Must be dependable and able to communicate clearly with the maintenance team
- Must be flexible with start times as needed for production and seasonal boiler start-up needs
