  • Troubleshoot mechanical issues (approximately 85% of the work) and electrical systems (approximately 15% of the work) to quickly identify root causes and implement effective solutions.
  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including valves and related components, to support production equipment.
  • Assist with robotic troubleshooting, including Fanuc robotics, to support automated equipment and minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Support maintenance on motors, 3-phase power equipment, and industrial machinery in a plastics manufacturing environment.
  • Perform basic electrical work up to 480V, including troubleshooting and repair of electrical components within safety guidelines.
  • Work on and support equipment used in blow molding and injection molding processes for plastic containers.
  • Use welding (MIG) skills as needed for repairs, fabrication, or reinforcement of equipment and components.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a food-grade or highly regulated manufacturing environment.
  • Experience in plastics manufacturing, particularly in blow molded plastic containers.
  • Comfort working with conveyor systems, trimming machines, and related packaging equipment.

Why Work Here?

You will join a stable, growth-oriented manufacturing operation with a solid and long-standing customer base, providing strong job security and long-term career potential. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, health, vision, and life insurance. You can participate in a 401(k) plan, accrue up to two weeks of paid time off, and receive a tool allowance and a boot allowance to support your work on the floor. Overtime opportunities are available, enabling you to increase your earnings while contributing to a high-performing maintenance team. The culture emphasizes safety, quality, and independence, giving you the trust and autonomy to own your work while being supported by a collaborative team.

Work Environment

This role is based in a small, food-grade manufacturing facility in Indianapolis that produces plastic containers. The environment emphasizes cleanliness and strict adherence to safety and quality standards. On the production floor, you must wear hair nets, beard nets (as applicable), safety glasses, and steel-toe footwear at all times to meet food-grade and safety requirements. The facility operates with a strong focus on industrial equipment such as trimming machines, strappers, conveyor systems, blow molding and injection molding machinery, hydraulic and pneumatic systems, and Fanuc robotics.
