Description

Job Title: Maintenance Technician III
Location: San Diego, CA
Duration: 6 Months with potential to extend or convert
Pay Rate: $36.00 $36.31/hour on W2
Shift: 9:30 PM 5:30 AM

Position Summary
Troubleshoot, repair, maintain, and support complex automated manufacturing equipment to minimize downtime and maintain production output.
  • Monitor equipment performance, cycle times, and production metrics to ensure achievement of OEE and operational targets.
  • Perform preventive maintenance activities and maintain associated documentation within the CMMS (Maximo).
  • Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, controls, and automation-related equipment issues.
  • Utilize technical manuals, schematics, diagnostic software, precision tools, and test equipment to support equipment operation and reliability.
  • Analyze equipment data and trends to identify root causes and implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Follow all safety procedures and utilize required safety devices when performing maintenance and troubleshooting activities.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance, repair, and equipment history records to support compliance, traceability, and quality system requirements.
  • Read, interpret, and follow technical documentation, work instructions, schematics, and verbal direction.
  • Utilize electronic data collection systems, manufacturing software, and equipment interfaces to support operations and troubleshooting.
  • Prioritize maintenance and troubleshooting activities based on production impact, equipment criticality, and business needs.
  • Maintain cross-training across multiple manufacturing processes and equipment platforms.
  • Support investigations and resolution of equipment-related process and product nonconformances.
  • Positively represent the company during audits, inspections, and facility tours by demonstrating technical expertise and adherence to procedures.
  • Support all company initiatives and comply with Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication and collaboration with production, engineering, quality, contractors, and vendors to ensure reliable manufacturing operations.
  • Document maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, modifications, and corrective actions performed on manufacturing equipment.
  • Assess and document the impact of completed work on production operations, equipment performance, and the validated state of equipment, ensuring appropriate review, approvals, and compliance with quality system requirements.

Education
  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Technical degree, certification, or vocational training in electronics, automation, or industrial maintenance preferred.
  • 2 4+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting electronic, electrical, or automated production equipment in a GMP-regulated manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience troubleshooting, repairing, maintaining, and improving complex automated manufacturing equipment, including mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and controls systems.
  • Experience utilizing technical documentation, schematics, diagnostic tools, and test equipment to resolve equipment issues and minimize downtime.
  • Experience in GMP, ISO, and FDA-regulated environments preferred.
  • Ability to work independently as the primary technical resource on a shift while effectively collaborating with production, engineering, quality, and maintenance personnel.
  • Demonstrated ability to assess equipment issues, prioritize competing demands, and make sound technical decisions in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Experience analyzing equipment performance data to identify root causes, implement corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of equipment maintenance documentation practices, including evaluating and documenting the impact of repairs, modifications, and troubleshooting activities on production operations and the validated state of equipment.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical information across multiple organizational levels.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, follow-up, and attention-to-detail skills.
  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance and work scheduled overtime as required.
  • Experience working in a matrixed and cross-functional business environment preferred.
