Job Title: Maintenance Technician

Location: Madison, GA

Pay Rate: $24/hour

Shift: 2nd Shift - Monday to Friday, 3 PM to 11:30 PM

Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment. The ideal candidate will ensure that preventative and routine maintenance is performed on all equipment and support systems within our manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to execute required maintenance and service effectively. • Identify and diagnose faulty operations or defective materials, report any unusual situations to management promptly. • Collaborate with Shift Management to manage and rectify dysfunctional machinery, ensuring optimal machine availability. • Conduct routine calibration and maintenance of electro-mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems. • Assist in the successful integration of new machinery into the facility. • Perform mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting and repairs on various production equipment. • Diagnose and repair industrial equipment, including PLC-controlled systems. • Maintain electrical equipment, including motors, control boxes, and welders. • Troubleshoot and repair conveyor systems, both electrical and mechanical. • Dismantle machines and remove parts for repair or disposal, utilizing hand tools, chain falls, and lifting devices. • Execute preventative maintenance on motors, gearboxes, conveyor systems, and ammonia refrigeration systems. • Fabricate metal components using TIG, MIG, and ARC welding techniques on aluminum, stainless steel, and mild steel. • Perform any other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Knowledge, Skills, and Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required; equivalent combination of education and industrial maintenance experience will be considered.

  • A minimum of 5 years of industrial maintenance experience with proficiency in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, electrical, and HVAC systems.
  • Familiarity with industrial tools and equipment, including extrusion winder, glue, and tape machines.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, and a solid understanding of data analysis software.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to read and write in English.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and bend for extended periods.
  • Some tasks may require occasional stooping, crouching, crawling, climbing, and balancing.
  • Capable of lifting up to 50 pounds regularly and up to 75 pounds safely, as trained.
  • Navigate a ~72,000 square-foot manufacturing warehouse facility, including heavy machinery and forklift operation.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced team environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities in a non-climate-controlled setting.
  • Correctable vision and hearing are required.
