Impact of the Role
General Profile
- Acquires basic skills to perform routine tasks

- Performs manual tasks according to established procedures
Essential Functions
- Assist with preventive maintenance and skilled repairs on electrical and mechanical production equipment and systems.
- Follows standard procedures to monitor equipment for performance, safety, and effectiveness.
- Assists with performing equipment failure analysis to complete preventive and unscheduled maintenance.
- Supports with troubleshooting and diagnosing equipment problems.
- Logs equipment modifications and maintenance details in the designated system.
- Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and maintains quality standards
Required Qualifications
- Required education and experience: Attending a Vocational / Technical School or internal training program OR Equivalent Combination of Relevant Education & Experience or Skillset; No prior experience needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred education and experience: Vocational/Technical Training Degree
- Discipline/Major: Technical training preferred
- Knowledge, skills & abilities: Ability to work as part of a team. Problem-solving skills. Technical expertise. Automation. Calibration. Equipment maintenance. Failure analysis. Manufacturing support. Mechanical troubleshooting. Numerical control. Production support. Refurbishment. Total Productive Maintenance (TPM). Equipment repairs. Mechanical maintenance. Equipment monitoring. Process documentation.
Physical Requirements
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
- This position is Safety-Sensitive.
Travel Requirements:
- Requires regular movement throughout GD-OTS facilities.
- Must be able to lift up to 45 pounds.
- May need to stand for long periods of time.
- Work may require employee to work inside and outside with exposure to changing climate and/or operate machinery.
- May be requested to work a different shift.
