We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support operations within a metals recycling facility. This role is responsible for maintaining, inspecting, and repairing critical industrial equipment including conveyors, belting systems, pumps, valves, motors, and metal separation machinery.The ideal candidate will be hands-on, safety-focused, and experienced in industrial mechanical maintenance. You will perform preventative maintenance and troubleshooting to ensure equipment reliability and minimize downtime.What We Offer

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain conveyors, gearboxes, motors, pumps, and valvesPerform routine inspections and identify faulty or failing equipmentLubricate and grease equipment on a scheduled basisRead and interpret blueprints and ensure work meets required tolerancesUse hand tools, power tools, torches, and welding equipment safely and effectivelyFabricate and assemble metal structures and fixtures using welding and cutting equipmentMonitor welding and fabrication processes to prevent distortion, warping, or material damagePreheat materials as required using torches or heating equipmentFollow all safety procedures including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout), rigging protocols, and confined space requirementsAttend daily shift meetings to prioritize work orders and reduce downtimeMaintain accurate maintenance logs, reports, and activity summariesKeep work areas clean, organized, and safe at all timesContinuously improve mechanical knowledge through training and industry resourcesPerform minor repairs using grinders, cutting torches, and welding tools
Required Skills & Abilities
Minimum 3 years of industrial maintenance experienceAbility to read tape measures and interpret blueprintsExperience operating tele-handlers, forklifts, scissor lifts, and high-reach equipmentProficient with hand tools, power tools, and specialized maintenance equipmentAbility to lift and carry up to 50 lbsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsEffective communication skillsStrong understanding of workplace safety standards and regulations
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or GED requiredWorking knowledge of OSHA standards and industrial safety practicesExperience with rigging and mobile equipment operation preferred
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work is performed outdoors in all weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow)Required PPE includes safety glasses, steel-toe boots, gloves, and high-visibility vestHearing protection and additional PPE provided as neededWork may require evenings, weekends, and varying shiftsFrequent physical activity including stooping, bending, walking, and standingConfined space entry and respirator use may be required
