Maintenance Technician/General Mechanical (3rd Shift)

This applies to direct care staff (Examples: RN, LPN, Nurse Aides, Therapists) referred to Kentucky nursing facilities, assisted living communities, or long-term care facilities, in accordance with KRS 216.793. Assisting with the installation, repair, or replacement of hot and cold water lines, building heating systems, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and pipes.

Pay Range: 55k - 70k/Year

Current shifts available:

• 3rd shift hours: Sunday – Friday, 10:30pm – 7:00am (additional shift differential included)

Job Responsibilities

This role involves general maintenance tasks, including:

• Assisting in pipe cutting, preassembly, and installation of plumbing systems and components under supervision.
• Monitoring production management systems to determine operational status and system malfunctions.
• Building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, designing, and modifying production equipment related to plumbing.
• Installing, repairing, and maintaining chilled water, steam, heat, water, gas, drainage, sewage, and other plumbing systems.
• Operating reamers, threading discs, sewer tapes, pipe cutters, snakes, and other plumbing equipment and hand tools.
• Assisting with the installation, repair, or replacement of hot and cold water lines, building heating systems, valves, traps, backflow prevention devices, and pipes.
• Operating machine tools to fabricate parts.
• Maintaining current knowledge relevant to state-of-art technology, equipment, and/or systems.
• Ensuring proper care, safety, and maintenance of equipment and supplies.
• Complying with all environmental and safety policies and procedures.
• Performing miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
• Operating forklift and other heavy machinery.
• Assisting with routine inspection and maintenance on building system components.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

• A High School Diploma or GED and at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. A higher degree from an accredited institution or technical certification/license in a plumbing-related field may be substituted for experience.
• Ability to record and/or log equipment operational status.
• Ability to utilize, test, maintain, and modify a range of engineering equipment and apparatus.
• Ability to assist with building and testing engineering and/or scientific systems and components.
• Knowledge of HVAC systems maintenance and repair.
• Plumbing installation, maintenance, and repair skills.
• Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
• Knowledge of current technological developments/trends in the area of expertise.
• Ability to read and follow technical instructions and manuals, and to write reports containing technical information.
• Ability to use hand and power tools applicable to the trade.
