Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support production and packaging operations in a food manufacturing facility. This role is responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of manufacturing and packaging equipment to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production.
The ideal candidate has hands-on mechanical and basic electrical experience, understands food-grade environments, and can respond quickly to minimize downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on food processing and packaging equipment
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
- Maintain and repair conveyors, fillers, sealers, mixers, ovens, and packaging machinery
- Respond to equipment breakdowns and production support calls
- Perform machine setups, changeovers, and adjustments
- Conduct equipment inspections to ensure reliability and safety
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings and electrical schematics
- Document maintenance activities using CMMS or work order systems
- Follow GMP, HACCP, and food safety requirements
- Adhere to all safety policies, including lockout/tagout procedures
Qualifications
- 2–5+ years of maintenance experience in a food, beverage, or consumer goods manufacturing environment
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Basic electrical knowledge (motors, sensors, wiring, controls)
- Experience with conveyors and packaging machinery
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Willingness to work off-shifts, weekends, or on-call as needed
Preferred Experience
- Experience with high-speed packaging lines
- Pneumatic and hydraulic system knowledge
- PLC troubleshooting exposure (not programming-heavy)
- Familiarity with FDA-regulated or GMP environments
- Welding or fabrication experience
