Maintenance Technician
Setting/Hours: 100% In-Office | 1st or 2nd shift

Join trak group in partnering with a manufacturing client seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician II to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain machine tools, production equipment, and facility systems. This hands-on role requires a strong combination of mechanical and electrical maintenance skills, including experience with machine repair, electrical controls, fabrication, preventive maintenance, and computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
The ideal candidate is a skilled industrial maintenance professional who can independently diagnose equipment failures, complete complex repairs, and provide technical support and mentorship to less-experienced maintenance team members.
Responsibilities
Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair machine tools, attachments, and auxiliary equipment.
Diagnose equipment failures and perform repairs, replacements, alignments, and adjustments.
Fabricate replacement machine components such as shafts, pins, and bushings.
Perform basic cutting, welding, and fabrication work.
Complete preventive maintenance and complex equipment troubleshooting.
Install and maintain electrical components, including motors, starters, lighting circuits, power circuits, and breakers.
Troubleshoot electrical systems and solid-state controls.
Diagnose and repair computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
Use testing equipment and precision measuring instruments to identify equipment issues.
Complete work orders and accurately document repairs and maintenance activities.
Coordinate with outside vendors and suppliers for technical services and replacement parts.
Perform minor building and facility maintenance as needed.
Assist with training and mentoring Maintenance Technician I employees, apprentices, and new team members.
Support continuous improvement and 6S initiatives.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment.
Follow all company safety procedures and maintenance standards.
Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship or 5+ years of relevant industrial maintenance experience.
Strong mechanical troubleshooting and machine repair experience.
Working knowledge of machine tools, maintenance methods, materials, and repair practices.
Electrical maintenance experience with motors, starters, circuits, breakers, and controls.
Ability to troubleshoot electrical and solid-state control systems.
Experience diagnosing and repairing computer-controlled manufacturing equipment.
Ability to use hand tools, power tools, electrical testing instruments, and precision measuring devices.
Ability to perform shop mathematics and work from charts, tables, formulas, and technical documentation.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently while supporting and mentoring other maintenance employees.
Ability to safely work at elevated heights.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods and lift or manipulate up to 35 pounds.
Ability to meet required qualifications for operating applicable plant equipment.
Machine shop or CNC equipment maintenance experience.
Welding, cutting, and basic fabrication skills.
Experience fabricating replacement machine components.
Previous experience training or mentoring junior maintenance technicians or apprentices.
Experience using computerized maintenance/work-order systems.
