Careerscape is recruiting on behalf of our client, a growing manufacturing operation in Columbus, Ohio, for an experienced Maintenance Technician to join their facilities team. Day to day, you will split your time between scheduled preventive maintenance and reacting to unplanned equipment issues, so no two shifts look exactly alike. People who thrive in this role are self-directed problem solvers who are comfortable troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, enjoy working with their hands, and take ownership of keeping the plant floor safe and productive.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine preventive maintenance on production equipment and facility systems
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment failures
- Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns to minimize production downtime
- Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and equipment manuals
- Maintain accurate maintenance logs and work order records in the CMMS
- Install, align, and calibrate new machinery and equipment as needed
- Order and maintain inventory of spare parts and maintenance supplies
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with safety and OSHA regulations
- Collaborate with production supervisors to schedule maintenance around production needs
- Assist with facility upkeep including HVAC, plumbing, and general building repairs
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required, technical or trade school certification preferred
- 2 or more years of experience as a maintenance technician in a manufacturing or industrial setting
- Strong working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems
- Experience with PLCs and basic troubleshooting of automated equipment
- Ability to read technical drawings, schematics, and equipment manuals
- Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments
- Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial plant environment
- Strong problem solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
