Maintenance Technician – 1st Shift
Cleveland, OH
Pay: $28.00+/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM (Overtime Available)
Champion Personnel is seeking an experienced Maintenance Technician for a well-established heat-treating company located in Cleveland near Detroit Avenue. This is a temp-to-hire opportunity offering competitive pay, excellent benefits upon hire, and long-term career stability.

The company serves industries including automotive, aerospace, and heavy industrial manufacturing, utilizing specialized thermal processing equipment, vacuum furnaces, salt bath furnaces, and an in-house metallurgical testing lab.
Job Responsibilities
  • Perform preventative maintenance on plant machinery and equipment
  • Install and replace belts, bearings, chains, and other mechanical components
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and perform repairs in a timely manner
  • Test equipment following repairs to ensure proper operation
  • Complete both mechanical and electrical maintenance tasks
  • Perform general facility maintenance including painting and cleaning
  • Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
  • Complete basic MIG welding as needed
  • Operate forklifts and assist with equipment movement
  • Utilize basic computer programs including Microsoft Word and Outlook
Qualifications
  • 2–4 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems
  • Blueprint reading skills
  • Basic MIG welding experience
  • Forklift experience preferred
  • Ability to lift 40–50 pounds
  • Steel toe boots required
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing facility where employees are regularly exposed to heat, dust, humidity, noise, and fumes. Candidates must be comfortable standing, bending, and working in a physically demanding environment.
