You'll complete a variety of maintenance tasks, from HVAC and plumbing repairs to apartment turns and preventative maintenance, while assisting residents and working to ensure the community remains safe, attractive, and well cared for. You'll play an important role in creating a positive living experience for residents and maintaining the high standards Oakbrook is known for.Duties & ResponsibilitiesPerform repairs and maintenance on HVAC systems, boilers, plumbing, electrical systems, appliances, and related building systemsComplete work orders and turnovers efficiently to prepare apartments for new residentsCoordinate with vendors and contractors for specialized or large-scale repairsConduct routine and preventative maintenance, including inspections of common areas, building systems, and groundsSupport cleanliness and safety standards, including trash/recycling management and hazard identificationAssist with maintaining budgets related to repairs, maintenance, and capital improvementsRespond promptly to maintenance concerns, emergencies, or safety issuesSupport nearby properties, as neededParticipate in an on-call rotation to address urgent maintenance needsUphold and demonstrate Oakbrook's core values in all interactionsKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExperience in residential or property maintenance preferredWorking knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general repairsStrong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsExcellent interpersonal and communication skillsAbility to work independently and manage time effectivelyBasic RequirementsHigh school diploma or GEDTrade or vocational training preferredPersonal hand tools requiredValid driver's licenseAbout Oakbrook CorporationOakbrook has proudly served the Midwest since 1987.
