Responsibilities:

Role

The Maintenance Technician – Water Filtration is responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation, maintenance, and optimization of the facility’s water and wastewater treatment systems. This role combines traditional maintenance responsibilities with process support, chemical handling, and system troubleshooting to ensure consistent water quality and production performance.
This technician serves as the primary support for water filtration systems on production lines, working closely with operations, engineering, and chemical vendors to maintain compliance, improve performance, and resolve process issues.

 

Shift Details
Mangera’s Asheville location is currently seeking a Maintenance Technician for a Monday-Friday position. During the first six months, the selected candidate will complete training on a 12 PM -9 PM schedule. 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Operations & Monitoring
    • Perform daily rounds, monitor process parameters, and maintain system logs
    • Manage chemical usage, dosing, and inventory for water treatment systems
    • Adjust system settings and recipes to support production changes
  • Maintenance & Reliability
    • Conduct preventive maintenance, calibrations, and equipment inspections
    • Execute system shutdowns, cleanings, and startups
    • Troubleshoot and repair filtration, dosing, and pumping systems
  • Process Support & Improvement
    • Monitor SCADA systems and respond to abnormalities
    • Support recipe development and process optimization
    • Implement corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Compliance & Coordination
    • Maintain environmental reporting and meter readings
    • Coordinate with chemical vendors and support audits
    • Ensure adherence to safety, environmental, and operational standards
Qualifications:

Education/Experience

  • High School Diploma or GED and two (2) years of experience working in a similar role with industrial equipment or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Two (2) year technical degree in related area, preferred.

 

 Competencies

 

  • Basic electrical/electronic circuit knowledge required.
  • Working knowledge of motor control systems, PLCs, and communications systems.
  • Working knowledge of production and support equipment.
  • Ability to read prints, assembly drawings, and electrical schematics.
  • Intermediate mechanical knowledge required.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be detail oriented.
  • Ability to work well under pressure independently and as part of a team.

 

Working Conditions:

 

  • 10% desk work; CMMS and Microsoft.
  • 90% standing/walking, climbing, bending, twisting, reaching.
