**POSITION SUMMARY
**
This position is responsible for performing highly diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair and maintain production and facility equipment according to safety, predictive and productive maintenance systems and processes to support the achievement of the site’s business goals and objectives.
**ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES
**
Perform mechanical skills, including but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting, machinist, and repair of production machinery.
Perform facilities maintenance, including but not limited to, plumbing, general maintenance, and carpentry functions.
Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during machine service.
Test malfunctioning machinery and discuss malfunction with affected departments (production, maintenance, tool room) to diagnose malfunction.
Detect faulty operations and defective material and report those and any unusual situations to the proper supervision.
Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, position sensing devices, and perform required maintenance and service.
Use test equipment and heavy industrial shop tools to diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and system failures.
Visually inspect, listen to, and dismantle machines and equipment to locate the cause of malfunctions and gain access to problem areas.
Start machines and equipment to test operation following repairs.
Replace electric motor bearings and rewire motors.
Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.
Analyze failure of electrical equipment using ammeter, voltmeter, ohmmeter, drawings and visual inspection.
Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make the necessary adjustments.
Replace faulty electrical components of machines such as relays, switches and motors and position sensing devices.
Realign and adjust components such as spindles and clutches.
Install, test, and maintain control devices, pressure-sensing units and flow measuring devices.
Perform, recommend, and develop preventative maintenance procedures for all plant welding equipment, including robotic systems.
Participate in solving chronic process and quality issues (corrective actions, 8D’s, etc.).
Maintain compliance with company policies, 5S, and health and safety procedures and programs.
Ensure continuous improvement or current processes.

**SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
**
Minimum 2 years of experience in general machine maintenance, including at least one year of experience related to stamping presses and support equipment.
Minimum 2 years of experience in manual and automated welding processes.
Working knowledge of MIG welding processes.
Knowledge of robotic welding and material handling applications is preferred.
Knowledge of robotic programming (Motoman, Fanuc, etc.) a plus.
Knowledge of manufacturing processes, product design, safety, quality and workflow.
Ability to properly use test equipment, heavy industrial shop tools and equipment, diagnose and troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and systems failures.
Strong electrical maintenance troubleshooting with understanding of electrical/controls with the ability to read schematics.
Experience with hydraulics.
Strong computer skills including working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and ability to learn ERP system (Plex).
Ability to work quickly, efficiently and independently, as well as in a collaborative cross-departmental team environment.
Maintain a current hi-lo, crane, and manlift license.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS
**
Requires flexibility in schedule to support a 24-hour manufacturing facility.
May require flexibility to be on call periodically

** This position will work primarily in a manufacturing environment and therefore exposed to industry accepted noise and smells.
