About the vacancy
The Maintenance Technician-Industrial Automation is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing automated and industrial systems in a cold storage environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance on automated systems
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems
- Support conveyors, cranes (ASRS), and refrigeration systems
- Read and interpret electrical schematics
- Ensure compliance with safety standards (OSHA, food safety)
- Track work in CMMS and maintain records
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years industrial maintenance or related experience
- Experience with mechanical and electrical systems
- Ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment
- High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with automated systems (ASRS, conveyors, robotics)
- PLC troubleshooting experience
- Experience in cold storage or distribution environments
- Technical certification or associate degree
Physical & Environmental Requirements
This role requires the ability to perform essential job functions in an industrial cold storage environment, with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Ability to work in temperature-controlled environments, including freezer conditions
- Ability to safely access elevated areas using ladders, platforms, and fall protection equipment
- Ability to work at heights and within confined or restricted equipment spaces (e.g., crane cabs, machinery enclosures)
- Ability to safely operate and access equipment within manufacturer-rated load limits, including tools and required PPE
- Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials (generally up to 50 lbs)
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, climbing, and reaching
- Ability to work safely around automated systems and moving industrial equipment
- Ability to wear respiratory protection equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus (SCBA), as required
- Must be able to meet respiratory protection requirements, including medical clearance and fit testing in accordance with OSHA standards
- Must be able to maintain a proper seal when wearing tight-fitting respirators, which may require limitations on facial hair in accordance with safety regulations
Work Environment
- Highly automated cold storage warehouse
- Exposure to industrial equipment and varying temperatures
- Shift work, weekends, and on-call support may be required
