Wingate Management Company is seeking a skilled and dependable Maintenance Technician to join our team in Albany, NY. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who takes pride in solving problems, providing excellent resident service, and maintaining a community to the highest standards.
Full-Time | Monday-Friday | 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
On-Call Rotation Every 3rd Week

Essential Skills and Abilities:
- Basic familiarity with computers. Navigate at a basic level within web-based applications.
- Read, and write in English in order to understand basic instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively with clients, visitors and other organization staff; and respond to basic questions
- Understand spoken English in order to follow basic instructions and take direction from supervisors; communicate effectively in Basic English with clients, visitors and organization staff in response to routine questions
- Basic knowledge of fundamental concepts, practices and procedures with the ability to use in routine situations. Specialized knowledge not required.
- General knowledge of electrical, plumbing, appliances and HVAC
- Excellent customer service skills
- Possess good communication and interpersonal skills
- Decision Making: Decisions are based on specific instructions, standard practices and established procedures which generally require little or no supervision
- Problem Solving: Problems are routine, somewhat repetitive and generally solved by following clear directions and procedures and by identifying opportunities for process improvements
- Independence of Duties: Work is monitored by supervisor/manager. General instructions and procedures are provided.
- Flexibility/Adaptability: Work is fairly routine from day to day. Employee follows a set pattern with any changes being communicated by supervisor.
- Available to respond to weather, environmental or emergency maintenance calls after normal working hours
- Ability to participate in the emergency on-call rotation is required
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all residents, families, visitors, vendors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment

Required Education and Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- 1-3 years relevant work experience
- Computer proficiency is a plus
Certificates/Licenses/Registrations:
- CAMT Certification preferred
Work Environment & Physical Demands:
- Interior and exterior work in all weather conditions as needed
