    SUMMARY

    A maintenance technician is responsible for the upkeep of a facility, such as an apartment building or business office. They are skilled in a variety of areas including plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems. Duties include inspecting buildings, maintaining inventory, and scheduling repairs.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

    Include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Performs break-fix preventative maintenance. This includes but not limited to: adjusting functional parts of devices and control instruments to sustain and improve operations repairing or replacing defective parts reconditioning or repairing machine tools, diagnose mechanical failures and perform repairs on facility equipment as required.
    • Perform preventive maintenance and repair of production equipment from blueprints, technical manuals, or vendor specifications.
    • Maintain organization of Maintenance Repair Area and any other area where repair work is in progress.
    • Identifies needed parts, supplies, and repair items.
    • Provides support and back up for other members of department as needed by leadership.
    • React to machine break downs with a sense of urgency.
    • Participate in Continuous Improvement activities
    • May be required to setup and operate simple machining operations including but not limited to: lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts. May perform basic welding tasks.
    • Install new equipment as required along with moving equipment for production use as required.
    • Completes technical self-study programs for career development.
    • Follows all safety related policies, rules, regulations, technical instructions and guidelines. Situational awareness and identify unsafe behaviors and conditions.

    PREFERRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

    High School Diploma or equivalent

    Associates degree with a Technical focus or 2 years of related experience in general industry
