Maintenance Technician - 3rd Shift - Level 1/2 (New Bedford)

The 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for executing preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment within a busy food processing facility. This role works alongside a growing maintenance team and supervisor to keep operations running efficiently through the overnight shift.

The 3rd Shift Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for executing preventive maintenance and repairs on plant equipment within a busy food processing facility. This role works alongside a growing maintenance team and supervisor to keep operations running efficiently through the overnight shift.
Key Responsibilities:

• Execute PMs of plant equipment and repairs around a busy production schedule
• Work with contractors: electricians, refrigeration contractors, plumbers, etc.
• Work with an evolving maintenance team and maintenance supervisor
• Create work orders and maintain inventory for replacement parts
• Perform general maintenance on OEM and custom fabricated equipment
• Communicate with team members on plant issues and work to improve plant operations

Qualifications:

• Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial mechanic environment
• Bilingual English/Spanish; conversational proficiency acceptable
• Ability to troubleshoot and solve mechanical and electrical issues
• Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems is a plus
• Understanding of blueprints, drawings, and schematics
• Basic computer and math skills
• Must be able to take direction
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to lift within OSHA guidelines

Work Environment:

• Active food processing facility; cold/refrigerated environment with fish
• 3rd shift; 5 days/week including 1 weekend day
• Fast-paced production environment; physical role
