Maintenance Technician - 100% Onsite

We want you to join our team! We are seeking maintenance technicians for our residential properties located in the Chicagoland area.

Job Summary:

The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing a wide range of maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the smooth operation and appearance of residential properties. This role involves responding to maintenance requests, performing routine inspections, and addressing various repair issues in a timely and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:

• Maintenance Management: Ensure that all maintenance tasks, including preventive, corrective, and emergency repairs, are performed efficiently and to high standards.
• Pre and post move out inspections
• Unit move out/in turns
• Conduct regular inspections of residential units and common areas to identify and address maintenance issues such as HVAC systems, plumbing, electrical systems, and appliances.
• Perform repairs and replacements as needed, including fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, repairing electrical components, and addressing other maintenance concerns.
• Respond promptly to emergency maintenance requests, such as urgent plumbing issues, electrical failures, or heating/cooling problems, and take appropriate action to resolve them.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, completed repairs, and inventory of supplies.
• Communicate effectively with tenants to understand their maintenance needs, provide updates on repair status, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction.
• Adhere to safety standards and regulations while performing maintenance tasks. Ensure that work areas are clean and safe for tenants and staff.
• Monitor and manage inventory of maintenance supplies and tools, ensuring that necessary items are stocked and in good condition.
• Work closely with property managers and other team members to coordinate maintenance schedules, address issues, and support property management objectives.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience in maintenance or a related field, preferably in a residential property setting.
• Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, carpentry, and general repair techniques.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues efficiently.
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with tenants and team members.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, climbing, and working in various conditions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to high-quality workmanship.

Education:

• Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., HVAC certification, electrical license) are preferred but not required.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Capability to perform physical tasks such as climbing ladders, standing for extended periods, and working in various weather conditions.
