8th Avenue Food & Provisions is a growing organization made up of businesses that produce and sell quality products including peanut butter, granola, and fruit and nut trail mixes to retail, foodservice and ingredient customers. The company was formed in October 2018 through a combination of Post Holdings' private brands businesses and is owned by Post Holdings and funds affiliated with Thomas H. Lee Partners, L.P. ("THL"), a private equity firm.

Location Description

The Hazelwood, Missouri plant produces a variety of fruit and nut products, including organic and non‑organic items, as well as trail mixes, with annual production of approximately 25 million pounds. The site supports a team of nearly 200 manufacturing and support employees and plays an important role in supplying products to the region.

Hazelwood is located in the greater St. Louis metropolitan area and is home to Lambert-St. Louis International Airport, providing convenient transportation access and connectivity. The community offers proximity to major highways, a large and diverse workforce, and a long‑standing manufacturing presence, making it a well‑connected and attractive location for operations and employees alike.

Responsibilities

This position is 2nd shift: Mon-Fri, 3p - 11:30p (with occasional Sat overtime)

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of facility machinery, building infrastructure, and operation support.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Repair mechanical/electrical issues of facility machinery as requested by the maintenance manager/supervisor on a daily basis.
• Improve the functioning of the machinery by making mechanical adjustments and performing preventative maintenance.
• Perform basic building maintenance and repairs including, but not limited to drywall repairs, painting, and any other such type of activities that may arise from time to time.
• Complete daily maintenance work orders and deliver them to the maintenance supervisor/coordinator.
• Clean and maintain work area after mechanical work has been performed on a daily basis.
• Other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

Education And Experience:

• Minimum of two (2) years of technical/mechanical experience in Food Production preferred.
• Completed or currently enrolled in technical degree/certificate program.
• Familiarity with GMPs and work in a food safe environment preferred.
• Mechanical, Hydraulic, Pneumatic systems and Control System knowledge preferred.
• Experience with High-Speed Packaging Machinery and industrial electrical PLC is a plus.
• Able to work as part of a diverse team or independently to ensure timely completion of assigned tasks.
• Positive, proactive and self-motivated with leadership qualities.
• An organized problem solver, able to prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm.
• Bi-lingual/Spanish speaking is a plus.
• Previous experience with Microsoft Office, CMMS (Computer Maintenance Management System) is a plus.

• Must be able to lift, move or otherwise manipulate 50 lbs.
• Ability to climb and work from ladders and elevated surfaces.
