    Description

    This position will be at our Jamaica Bay property. We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team. You will primarily be responsible for trash service - collecting, loading, and disposing of residential waste. Key duties include lifting heavy trash bags, operating truck compactors, and following assigned safety routes, as well as the upkeep, routine servicing, and repair of our facilities and common grounds. A great candidate is a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background who ensures our workplace remains safe, efficient, and fully functional.

    Primary Duties & Responsibilities

    • Waste Collection: Pick up trash bags, recycling bins, and large items from homes, curbsides, or doorsteps
    • Truck Operation: Drive collection vehicles or ride on the back/side and operate hydraulic lifts or compacting levers
    • Route Navigation: Follow maps and schedules to ensure complete pickup across designated neighborhoods
    • Site Maintenance: Empty waste to transfer stations/dumpster area
    • Preventative Upkeep: Perform routine maintenance tasks like replacing filters and light bulbs, doorknobs, minor leaks, clear drains, and service plumbing fixtures
    • Ability to use common tools such as hammers, saws, drills, wrenches, various hand and power tools for repair and maintenance
    • Experience performing routine maintenance
    • Quickly respond to service work orders
    • Moving furniture around within the building to other locations
    • Helps maintain equipment, parts, tools, and supplies.
    • Assist in all facets of repair and maintenance
    • All other duties as assigned.

    Required Skills/Abilities:

    •  2-3 years of experience
    • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Tool Proficiency: Skilled in using standard hand tools and power tools
    • Licensing: Must possess a valid driver’s license and pass a routine background
    • Skilled in trash and maintenance service
    • Be the face of the resort and always offer courteous and professional service for internal and external guests

    Education and Experience

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • 2-3 years experience
