Maintenance Supervisor/Technician Reports to Operations Manager Job DescriptionPerform various maintenance tasks involving production and associated support equipment, office, and plant facilities.Essential FunctionsDevelop training documents for maintenance personnel on maintenance and production equipment.To minimize production delays, assist production set-up and supervisors in ensuring timely and efficient equipment set-ups, changeovers, and start-ups.Train, coach, and provide day-to-day direction to maintenance personnel, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards.Assign planned maintenance tasks to various maintenance personnel, including oneself.Maintain Work order system and work with other department supervisors to determine future work.Qualify and work with suppliers and departmental managers to ensure proper installation, maintenance, and the general function of all equipment and the Facility.Develops and Maintains inventory of machine parts and orders replacements as needed.Work with other departments to help solve problems and promote cooperation supporting Kaufman Container's objectives.Actively assist in installing, repairing, and overhauling production, support, and shop equipment.Assists with troubleshooting equipment malfunctions.Develops and maintains a functional preventive maintenance program, utilizing industry standards; oversees all facets of the program.Develops and maintains reports related to KPIs for the department, including department spend, worked hours, downtime tracking, PM compliance, LDM board and 5S compliance.Direct and coordinate activities of maintenance staff.Actively assist in designing, constructing, and modifying equipment and tooling to improve safety, quality, and productivity.Developing action plans to ensure that the facility is fully operational and functioning properly.Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to maintenance personnel and communicate employee performance, training needs, and development opportunities to the Operations Manager.Promote and enforce compliance with all company safety policies, OSHA requirements, and safe work practices.Assist with maintenance staff scheduling, overtime coordination, and vacation coverage planning.Additional ResponsibilitiesBasic building maintenance.Purchase replacement parts for machines and workshop, if necessary, with the approval of the Operations ManagerSpecial projects as assigned. QualificationsExceptional organizational skillsHigh School or Vocational School DiplomaMust be able to set up and proficiently use common shop metal and woodworking tools and equipment.Trade school certification a plus.Self-motivated, work independently.Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and interpersonal skillsComputer literate or trainable.PLC and electrical experience are a plus.Metal, acrylic, and wood fabricationAble to work overtime and Saturdays.
