Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Department: Warehouse Operations
Position Reports to: Supply Chain Manager
Employment: W2, Full-Time, Salary, Exempt
Location: St. Augustine, FL (Distribution Center will be relocating to Palm Coast, FL). Non-local residents must be willing to travel to be considered.

Position Purpose:
The purpose of the Maintenance Supervisor is to oversee the daily operations, repair, and maintenance of facilities, equipment, or machinery, ensuring operational efficiency, safety, and compliance. The Maintenance Supervisor will lead the maintenance team, schedule repairs, manage inventory, and implement preventive maintenance to minimize downtime and prolong asset life.
 

Essential job functions include but are not limited to:
  • Planning, prioritizing, assigning, supervising, reviewing and participating in all tasks related to facility maintenance.
  • Handle emergency situations or after-hours calls for repair and maintenance.
  • Assist in developing maintenance policies and standards for an organization.
  • Coordinate training sessions in facility maintenance, safety procedures, and methods.
  • Plan and delegate daily tasks to Maintenance Technicians and other professionals, once team is established.
  • Maintain preventive maintenance standards for organization’s facilities and equipment.
  • Routinely inspect various elements of buildings and grounds to ensure functional, safe conditions, such as but not limited to; fire alarms, security cameras, and sprinkler systems.
  • Hiring, training, scheduling, and supervising maintenance staff and subcontractors to complete daily work orders and special projects efficiently.
  • Planning and execution of schedules to ensure machinery, building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire system), and infrastructure are functional, reducing equipment downtime.
  • Guaranteeing all work complies with environmental, health, and safety regulations (OSHA, EPA, etc.).
  • Managing maintenance budgets, inventory of parts, and vendor relationships.  
  • Assigning tasks and reviewing completed work for quality.
  • Assist with regular facility sanitation, documentation, and recording to ensure compliance standards are met.
  • Assist with budgeting, cost control, and resource allocation for maintenance operations. 
  • Train, evaluate, and certify employees on safe forklift operation and maintain training documentation and compliance records. 
  • Other duties as required. 
Knowledge and Job Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical school training or certifications (e.g., HVAC, HVAC/Freon), preferred. 
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Maintenance Supervisor, Technician, or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems. 
  • Knowledge of quality assurance, environmental health, and safety standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to manage a team and handle emergencies.  
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) or MS Office. 
  • Ability to identify issues and decide on required actions.
  • Competence in planning maintenance schedules.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and delegation skills. 
  • On-call emergency availability. 
  • Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certificate, a plus. 
Physical Requirements to perform the essential functions of this job:
  • Consistent ability to utilize hands and fingers to perform tasks as necessary for job duties, which may include operating machinery, handling materials, and typing (8+ hours per day).
  • Consistent capacity for visual acuity to audit, monitor, detect, and identify issues pertaining to processes, procedures, and functionality, while ensuring quality, regulation compliance, and health and safety standards are met (8+ hours per day).
  • Consistently communicate in English utilizing both written and oral methods including the use of speech and hearing to communicate effectively with team members, customers, and the ability to engage in verbal discussions and listen attentively (8+ hours per day).
  • Consistent ability to perform various physical tasks that require continuous standing (8+ hours per day), sitting (8+ hours per day), walking (8+ hours per day), bending (8+ hours per day), reaching (8+ hours per day), squatting, (3-5 hours per day), lifting; up to 50 lbs. (8+ hours per day), carrying (8+ hours per day), pushing/pulling (3-5 hours per day), and maneuvering within an office and warehouse workspace (8+ hours per day).
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks (8+ hours per day).
  • Ability to visually identify material, product and their characteristics (8+ hours per day).
  • Frequently climb ladders and stairs (8+ hours per day).
  • Operation of, but not limited to computer tools and equipment, printers and equipment, and various types of machinery (8+ hours per day).
  • Consistently work around spices; must not be sensitive or allergic to various scents, spices, fruits, extracts, aromas, or personal protective equipment (8+ hours per day).
