Maintenance Supervisor

Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager

Job Summary

The Maintenance Supervisor oversees daily maintenance activities in a USDA-regulated food processing facility. This role ensures equipment reliability, plant safety, and compliance with USDA, food safety, and company standards while leading and supporting the maintenance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate daily maintenance activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance
• Ensure equipment is maintained to meet USDA, food safety, and sanitation requirements
• Lead, train, and support maintenance technicians
• Troubleshoot and resolve equipment and utility issues to minimize downtime
• Coordinate maintenance activities with Production, QA, and Sanitation teams
• Enforce safety policies and lockout/tagout procedures
• Maintain maintenance records, work orders, and spare parts inventory
• Assist with equipment installations, upgrades, and continuous improvement projects

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical degree or certification preferred
• 3–5+ years of maintenance experience in a food or manufacturing environment
• Previous supervisory or lead experience preferred
• Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
• Familiarity with USDA regulations and food safety requirements
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills

Working Conditions

• Food processing environment with exposure to noise, temperature changes, and equipment
• Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and emergency call-ins as needed
