Overview:
The Maintenance Supervisor manages the daily activities of the Welding Shop and leads the customer service support initiatives of the Operations and Engineering departments.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinates the fabrication of Pipeline Integrity Projects, ILI anomaly repairs, and fabrication of pressure-containing and non-pressure-containing sleeves, hot tap/stopple installations and support of Plant as well as Pipeline Maintenance projects.
- Motivates others, leads change, communicates company and individual expectations as well as develops and maintains a focused cohesive workforce.
- Responsible for the safety, environmental compliance, management of the budgets, employee training and development, and personnel functions.
- Responsible for participating in employment and termination decisions, conducting employee performance reviews, developing employees as well as recommending promotions and pay increases.
- Responsible for the development and implementation of job plans and cost effective work procedures.
- Will have frequent contact with vendors for facility maintenance and station equipment scheduling/billing.
- Assists in the development of annual capital and O&M budgets and ensures projects are completed within prescribed budgets and time constraints.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
Experience/specific knowledge:
- Capable of reading and following P&IDs.
- Capable of reading and understanding equipment drawings.
- Strong knowledge of hydro testing and reviewing hydro test documents.
- Knowledge of general construction activities such as welding, pipe fitting, etc.
- 5 or more years’ experience in planning work activities and allocating resources.
- Strong background in one or more of the following: plant operations, heavy compressor maintenance (inspection and repair), and/or pipeline construction, repair and maintenance.
- Experience working with individuals to set challenging, relevant, timely and measurable individual and team objectives.
- Working knowledge of welding processes and code requirements for API 1104, ASME and AWS.
- Knowledge of material specification of pipe/fittings/valves, etc.
Certifications, licenses, registrations:
- Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and a driving record acceptable to KM's insurer.

Physical demands:
- Tasks are performed indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions in daylight & darkness.
- May be required to stand, walk, sit, ascend/descend stairs or ladders, use hand tools, reach with hands and arms.
- Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Working conditions:
- Required to be able to be reached by phone 24/7 for responding to emergency situations.
- Travel to job sites, teams’ meetings and training is required.
Preferred education, experience, certifications, competencies, skills and abilities:
- Technical or Trade School, or Bachelor’s degree in engineering discipline or similar technology degree.
- Strong knowledge, above working knowledge, of the Corporate O&M manuals, Welding manuals, API-1104, ASME and AWS code requirements and all welding processes.
- Prior supervisory experience.
- Proven ability to recruit, develop, motivate, and retain effective team members.
- Strong computer skills above the proficiency level.
- Must live or relocate to live (by position start date) within 30 miles of reporting location.
- The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check, after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.
Pay Range:
USD $120,100.00 - USD $174,100.00 /Yr.
