Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Technician (Hybrid – Hands-On)

Location

  • Falsington, PA / Bristol, PA
  • Candidate will float between two facilities
  • Day starts at raw/meat processing plant

Pay Rate

Starting pay rate: $30 per hour

  • Higher rate possible for fully qualified or bilingual candidates
  • Temp-to-hire opportunity

Summary

Supervisor-level role that is 100% hands-on. The Maintenance Supervisor / Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production, packaging, refrigeration, and facility equipment in a USDA/FSIS-inspected meat processing environment. This role supports plant uptime, food safety, and compliance while working directly on machinery and leading maintenance priorities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform hands-on corrective and preventive maintenance on production, packaging, refrigeration, and facility equipment.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, electro-mechanical, pneumatic, and basic electronic systems.
  • Read electrical drawings, trace circuits, and diagnose equipment failures independently.
  • Act as first responder for unplanned downtime and equipment breakdowns.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot industrial refrigeration systems; coordinate with licensed contractors when required.
  • Support equipment changeovers, setups, and minor modifications.
  • Supervise and prioritize maintenance activities based on production needs.
  • Execute and improve preventive maintenance programs.
  • Complete maintenance logs, work orders, and documentation.
  • Enforce safety procedures including lockout/tagout and electrical safety.
  • Ensure compliance with USDA/FSIS, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP requirements.

Must-Have (Non-Negotiables)

  • Strong hands-on industrial maintenance experience.
  • Ability to:
    • Read and understand electrical drawings
    • Trace circuits
    • Troubleshoot and repair equipment independently
  • Willingness to:
    • Work directly on machines (mechanical + electrical)
    • Perform physical, dirty work (“grease under fingernails” mindset)

Language Requirement

  • English required
  • Bilingual candidates are highly valued

Work Environment & Safety

  • Meat processing plant environment
  • Wet floors and cold/freezer conditions
  • PPE required
  • Must provide own tools
  • Company provides general PPE and insulated freezer coats

Basic Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience
  • Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred
  • Refrigeration experience required (license or certification preferred)
  • Ability to read electrical schematics and equipment manuals
  • Basic computer and maintenance documentation skills
