Maintenance Supervisor

Location: Milwaukee, WI

Pay: $21-24.00 per hour

Job Type: Full-time

Schedule: 40 hours per week. On call position flexible scheduling required. Monday - Saturday days, evenings, weekends

About the Role

At The Salvation Army Thrift Store, your work helps turn donations into funding for programs that support people in our community. We're seeking an experienced and skilled supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our maintenance department. This role is crucial in evaluating systems, determining maintenance needs, and planning work assignments to ensure our facilities run smoothly and efficiently.

What You'll Do

Maintenance Operations

  • Facilitate or perform maintenance and repairs of electrical, plumbing, HVAC, carpentry, and painting systems
  • Establish and maintain preventive maintenance programs
  • Initiate and manage work order system to track completion and quality
  • Estimate labor, materials, and costs for all work orders
  • Keep necessary records including maintenance log, mileage log, and OSHA log
  • Ensure all work meets quality standards and compliance requirements

Team Leadership

  • Supervise and train maintenance workers
  • Provide training and mentoring to promote success
  • Maintain a safe working environment
  • Ensure proper use of PPE including gloves, masks, and back guards

Project Management

  • Assess building systems to plan work assignments
  • Create and manage project schedules
  • Determine maintenance and repair priorities
  • Coordinate with other departments for minimal disruption
  • Available for flexible schedule including early/late shifts and some weekends
