Maintenance Supervisor

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a second-shift team of technicians responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of diesel and alternative-fuel trucks, containers, heavy-duty equipment, and shop machinery. This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for planning and scheduling repairs, coaching technicians, monitoring shop performance, and ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Position Description:

The Maintenance Supervisor will lead a second-shift team of technicians responsible for the preventive maintenance and repair of diesel and alternative-fuel trucks, containers, heavy-duty equipment, and shop machinery.

This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for planning and scheduling repairs, coaching technicians, monitoring shop performance, and ensuring all maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and on time.

Required Skills:

• Hands-on diesel technician experience.
• Previous supervisory, management, or lead-technician experience.
• Ability and willingness to work second shift from approximately 12: 30 PM to 11: 00 PM.
• Experience leading technicians in a diesel, fleet, or heavy-equipment maintenance environment.
• Strong knowledge of diesel engines, chassis, emissions systems, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, electrical systems, and HVAC systems.
• Ability to plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repair work.
• Experience coaching, training, and evaluating technicians.
• Ability to conduct shop huddles, fleet walks, and quality-control inspections.
• Knowledge of DOT, OSHA, federal, and state safety regulations.
• Ability to manage shop inventory, maintenance records, payroll information, budgets, and departmental goals.
• Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues and provide technical guidance to technicians.
• Dossier Maintenance Software experience is helpful.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of three years of diesel or heavy-equipment maintenance experience.
• Minimum of one year of supervisory, management, or lead-technician experience.
• Automotive Service Excellence certification.
• ASE T2 –Diesel Engines.
• ASE T3 –Drive Train.
• ASE T4 –Brakes.
• ASE T5 –Suspension and Steering.
• ASE T6 –Electrical/Electronic Systems.
• ASE T7 –HVAC Systems.
• ASE T-Series Master Technician certification.
