Job Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor is responsible for leading all maintenance operations for manufacturing and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient production. This role oversees preventive and corrective maintenance programs, manages maintenance personnel, and drives continuous improvement initiatives to maximize equipment uptime and Overall Operational Effectiveness (OOE). The Maintenance Supervisor also leads capital and operational projects, coordinates vendor support, manages maintenance inventory, and ensures technicians receive the training and resources needed to support business objectives.
Minimum Qualifications: (Education, Experience, Knowledge, and Skills):
- Associate degree in a technical field preferred; equivalent combination of
education and experience considered. - 5+ years of industrial equipment maintenance experience.
- 2+ years of leadership or supervisory experience.
- 4+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional project management certification (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent) preferred.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead, coach, develop, and schedule maintenance technicians to support
operational requirements and ensure appropriate technical competency across the team. - Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to
maximize equipment reliability, uptime, and Overall Operational Effectiveness (OOE). - Monitor maintenance performance metrics, budgets, and inventory levels, implementing corrective actions and continuous improvement initiatives as needed.
- Partner with manufacturing leadership to ensure equipment performance supports production goals and operational efficiency.
- Oversee facility and equipment maintenance activities while ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements, and other safety standards.
- Utilize strong knowledge of industrial electrical systems, including 110V and 480V applications, to troubleshoot and support equipment performance. Lead maintenance-related projects, including planning, budgeting, scheduling, resource allocation, risk management, and execution.
- Coordinate and manage internal and external resources, including contractors, vendors, equipment manufacturers, and service providers.
- Develop, maintain, and improve maintenance procedures, work instructions, best practices, and preventive maintenance strategies.
- Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, manuals, specifications, and other technical documentation.
- Utilize maintenance management systems and project management software to track work, resources, project status, and performance outcomes.
- Conduct root cause analysis and implement sustainable solutions to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Demonstrate strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, communication, and multitasking skills while effectively managing priorities and deadlines.
- Communicate project updates, performance results, risks, and recommendations to leadership and key stakeholders.
- Maintain a continuous improvement mindset with a focus on safety, quality, reliability, cost reduction, and operational excellence.
Working Conditions:
- This position is on-site 5 days per week.
- Occasional travel may be required for training or meetings.
- Must be able to work flexible hours to accommodate different business needs.
