Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor Exemption Status/Test: Exempt

Primary Purpose:
Assist the Director of Maintenance in managing the district's maintenance operations. Maintain school
plant ensuring it is in excellent operating condition so that full educational use may be made at all
times. Assist with overseeing that campus personnel are providing a quality and timely service to our
schools. Provide a physical environment that is functional, safe, clean, and attractive.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Building Maintenance and Repair
to walk campuses with the purpose of making observations on the overall cleanliness and maintenance.
Any noticeable deficiency shall be documented as a work order to be addressed by the appropriate
personnel.

Ensure compliance with federal and state law, State Board of Education rule, and local board policy.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required including timekeeping

Supervisory Responsibilities:
Supervise, evaluate, and recommend the hiring and firing of skilled craftsmen, campus coordinators and
support staff assigned to maintenance department.

Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment including computer and peripherals; district vehicle
Posture: Prolonged sitting; frequent standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and
twisting; may work in tiring and uncomfortable positions
Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladders/scaffolding; regular grasping/squeezing, wrist
flexion/extension, and overhead reaching; frequent driving
Lifting: Regular moderate lifting and carrying (1544 pounds); occasional heavy lifting (45 pounds and over)
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; frequent exposure to
extreme hot and cold temperatures, dust, noise, vibration; exposure to chemical and electrical hazards; work
around machinery with moving parts; regularly work irregular hours; occasional prolonged hours; frequent
districtwide travel
Mental Demands: Maintain emotional control under stress
