    Waste Connections of Tennessee, Inc. is looking for a Shop Supervisor to join our hauling operation in Knoxville, TN .


    Our Shop Supervisor will work directly with the Maintenance Manager to formulate both short-term and long-term goals and action plans for the hauling company. We seek individuals with a leadership mentality and desire to grow with promotional opportunities in this role.

    Schedule: 5:00am start time averaging approximately 10-11 hours/day.


    Monday-Friday with occasional Saturdays.

    Position Responsibilities:


    • Ensures adherence to the corporate safety program.


    • Fosters collaboration between and among personnel.


    • Responsible for adequate training of mechanics on shift.


    • Ensure proper completion of repair orders by all technicians.


    • Responsible for the control of inventory and maintenance of equipment.


    • Assists Mechanics on diagnosing and repairing vehicles and equipment.


    • Schedules and assigns work.


    • Troubleshoot problems and/or tests repairs to ensure proper and safe completion.


    • Communicates regularly with the District Maintenance Manager and Shop Supervisor.


    • Assists in monthly financial projections and annual budget.


    • Perform quality control inspection and work observations.


    • Perform fleet inspections.


    Requirements:


    • Must have experience with truck, light or heavy equipment maintenance and repair.


    • Ability to train and motivate staff a must.


    • Knowledge of air brake, hydraulic and electrical systems.


    • Holds or ability to certify for CDL within 90 days of start date.


    • Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair.


    • Must have excellent working knowledge of DOT compliance requirements.


    • Must have ability to motivate staff to meet corp., region, division, and district objectives.


    • Must have excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills.
