Penmac Staffing is seeking a dependable and skilled Maintenance Technician for a full-time, 1st shift opportunity with a manufacturing facility in the Springfield area. Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required
- Previous mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience preferred
- Working knowledge of 3-phase 480-volt electrical systems
- Experience with steam systems, compressors, drives, pneumatics, pumps, motors, conveyors, bucket elevators, and related equipment
- Ability to perform cutting, welding, and fabrication work
- Basic computer skills for HMIs and operating systems
- Ability to lift up to 55 pounds and climb ladders
- Ability to work in hot, cold, dusty, noisy, and wet environments
- Must be willing to wear required PPE
- Strong attendance, communication, and teamwork skills
- Self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Must be willing to submit to required pre-employment screenings
ResponsibilitiesThe Maintenance Technician is responsible for keeping plant equipment operating safely and efficiently through preventive maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs. Key duties include:
- Perform scheduled equipment inspections and preventive maintenance activities
- Lubricate equipment and document completed service work
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and steam systems
- Complete work orders and repair requests in a timely manner
- Order and maintain inventory of parts and equipment as directed
- Operate equipment such as forklifts, scissor lifts, pumps, motors, ladders, and man lifts safely
- Utilize lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and follow all established safety rules
- Inspect and clean mixers and surge hoppers according to schedule
- Communicate with production operators regarding equipment performance and concerns
- Work alongside contractors and ensure compliance with facility safety standards
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, inspections, and safety checks
- Assist with training and mentoring new team members when qualified
- Perform housekeeping duties and maintain a clean work area
- Attend training as assigned and work overtime when needed
