About the Agency

The Pearl River Valley Water Supply District provides water to the City of Jackson for treatment and distribution, serves over 5,800 water customers in four systems, and provides recreational opportunities for over 2,250,000 annual visitors. The Ross Barnett Reservoir is a 33,000-acre impoundment at the heart of the District on the Pearl River just north of Jackson. Ownership and operation of the reservoir, its shoreline, and the 17,000 acres of surrounding property is vested in the District. The District member counties include Hinds, Madison, Rankin, Scott, and Leake counties. The District is responsible for the maintenance of the reservoir dam, spillway, approximately 50 public areas and entrances, 5 campgrounds, and 4 water/sewer systems. The spillway control tower, Reservoir Patrol, and the 5 campgrounds are staffed 24 hours a day. About the Position

This position combines the responsibilities of an office manager with the operational oversight of the District's maintenance shop. This position ensures smooth daily operations, maintains an organized work environment, and supports administrative duties and District-wide activities. • Oversee daily shop operations: Manage all areas of the shop, including daily processes that streamline vehicle and equipment maintenance, sales, customer service, and service delivery. • Administrative management: Handle correspondence, answer phone calls, maintain records, and update files. Employee time recordkeeping. • Budget and financial oversight: District-wide purchasing compliance, process invoices, and track expenses. • Inventory and supply management: Monitor stock levels within software, order supplies, and maintain organized work areas. • Scheduling and coordination: Create and maintain shop/equipment/vehicle schedules, assign tasks, and coordinate with other departments or management on District workorders. Shop inventory maintenance and upkeep, workorder maintenance and upkeep and State purchasing laws are considered key roles in this position.

What youll need to be Successful

This role will require strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple manual and technical processes. Knowledge and/or understanding of equipment and vehicle maintenance and schedules, implementation and monitoring processes that streamline daily shop activity. • Organizational skills: Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment. • Communication skills: Strong verbal and written communication for staff, customers, and management. • Technical knowledge: Outstanding computer skills including proficiency with workorder and inventory systems and email. Effectively implement and monitor equipment and vehicle maintenance schedules. • Problem-solving: Ability to address issues quickly and effectively. • Attention to detail: Ensure accuracy in records, scheduling, and state purchasing compliance.
