Shift: 1st Shift 8 AM - 5 PM

  • We are seeking a detail-oriented Temporary Maintenance Safety Documentation Specialist to support a critical plant safety and compliance initiative.
  • This individual will work closely with Maintenance, EHS, and Operations teams to review, revise, and standardize Preventive Maintenance (PM) documentation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures across the facility.
  • The primary focus of this role will be updating maintenance PMs to clearly identify required safety controls, including LOTO requirements, non-routine task documentation needs, and other safety-related work instructions.
  • This position will also assist in reviewing and updating all plant LOTO procedures to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • The successful candidate should be comfortable spending at least 50% of their time on the manufacturing floor conducting equipment audits, verifying energy isolation points, and working directly with maintenance technicians and operators.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and update existing Preventive Maintenance (PM) procedures within the CMMS system.
  • Identify and document whether Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) is required for the PM, partial energy isolation requirements, non-routine task form requirements, and applicable safety precautions and hazard controls.
  • Partner with Maintenance Technicians, Supervisors, Engineers, and EHS personnel to verify equipment-specific requirements.
  • Conduct field verification of machinery and equipment to ensure procedures accurately reflect current operating conditions.
  • Review and revise existing LOTO procedures for completeness and compliance.
  • Create new LOTO procedures where gaps are identified.
  • Ensure maintenance documentation follows company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Organize and maintain electronic records and document revisions.
  • Track project progress and provide routine status updates to leadership.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to maintenance safety and compliance.

Requirements:

  • Associate degree, technical school certification, or higher in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering Technology, Industrial Maintenance.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing, heavy industrial, or production environment.
  • Working knowledge of Lockout/Tagout principles and industrial safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
  • Ability to navigate and update computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with OSHA’s Energy Control Standard and machine safety standards.
  • Experience developing or revising LOTO procedures.
  • Experience with CMMS platforms such as SAP, Maximo, MP2, Maintenance Connection, or similar systems.
  • Experience conducting equipment walkdowns and documenting processes.
  • Continuous improvement experience (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, TPM, etc.) is a plus.
  • Experience with BradyLink360 software a plus.

Technical Skills:

  • CMMS data management and maintenance planning knowledge.
  • Technical writing and procedure development experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment manuals, electrical schematics, pneumatic and hydraulic diagrams, and process flow documentation.
  • Microsoft Excel proficiency, including data tracking and reporting.
  • Document control and revision management experience.
  • Knowledge of hazardous energy control programs (LOTO).
  • Understanding of risk assessments and non-routine work processes.

Project Deliverables:

  • Review and update approximately 172 existing LOTO procedures.
  • Create new LOTO procedures for identified equipment gaps.
  • Review and update 551 preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Verify energy isolation points and machine-specific hazards through field audits.
  • Ensure all procedures are uploaded and maintained in BradyLink360 and CMMS systems.
