Maintenance, Refrigeration Technician, Evening Shift - Specialty Foods Group, LLC - Owensboro, KentuckySpecialty Foods Group, LLC (SFG), a dynamic pork processor and packager based in Owensboro, Kentucky, is looking for a motivated Mechanical Maintenance Technician to work in our world-class facility. The Mechanical Maintenance Technician is responsible for supporting the production operation by minimizing equipment downtime and completing preventative and corrective maintenance.If you are interested in this unique opportunity for a growing company that helps feed the world, then look no further than Specialty Foods Group.Responsibilities: Check readings from refrigeration compressors, air compressors, water supply pressure, boiler pressure, hot water temperatures and record on proper paperworkTake boiler water samples for testing, record findingsCheck boiler water feed temperatures (needs to be 228 degrees), if not take corrective actionCheck list of repairs from supervisor, ensure repairs are doneRepair anything from sightDo hourly checks on water pressure, temperatures and air pressureTake midday reading of refrigeration equipmentCheck & repair refrigeration equipment in the plantRecord plant temperatures in all areas and in coolersPreventative maintenance in engine roomClean engine & boiler rooms dailyOther duties may be assigned by supervisorQualifications: Must pass maintenance testElectrical knowledgeBasic computer skillsMust be able to pass Hazmat certification (including physical)Mechanical skillsPlumbing skillsAbility to work in extreme hot, cold, wet, humid, and odorous environmentsUphold company policies and ethical standardsCommitment to follow safety policies and practicesWillingness to complete Confined Space trainingCertificate of completion in operators #1 ammoniaEssential Job Functions:Must be able to lift up to 80 lbs. twice each shift minimumProlonged standing/walkingAbility to stoop, stand, push, pull repetitively Ability to work in Temperatures range from 36 - 40 degrees Exposed to heat & cold in all weather conditionsMay be exposed to ammonia & chlorineSpecialty Foods Group, LLC maintains a diverse workforce where employee differences are truly valued.
