    SUMMARY

    The Maintenance Project Controls Specialist develops and manages analytics, reporting, and data systems that enable effective maintenance cost control, forecasting, and performance improvement. This role partners across Maintenance, Reliability, Finance, and IT to deliver actionable insights, enhance data integrity, and drive data-informed decision-making across site operations.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    May include, but are not limited to, the following:

    • Design, develop, and maintain Power BI dashboards and reports to track maintenance cost performance, budgets, forecasts, KPIs, and trends.

    • Develop standardized dashboards for: Maintenance and reliability cost performance, Budget vs. actuals and variance analysis, Outage cost tracking, Work management KPIs

    • Ensure dashboards and reports are accurate, validated, user-friendly, and aligned with business requirements.

    • Extract, transform, and analyze data from SAP ECC and other systems to support reporting and analytics.

    • Support corporate and site-driven system upgrades, reporting enhancements, and data structure changes.

    • Identify opportunities to automate reporting, reduce manual processes, and improve data integrity and efficiency.

    • Conduct periodic audits of maintenance data, KPIs, and dashboards to ensure compliance with standards and best practices.

    • Provide data-driven recommendations to improve maintenance productivity, cost efficiency, and reliability performance.

    • Collaborate cross-functionally with Maintenance, Reliability, Finance, and other departments to improve processes and decision-making.

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    • A current, valid Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is required.

    • College degree preferred (Engineering, Finance, Data Analytics, or related field) with 2–5 years of relevant experience, OR minimum of 5 years of progressive analytical experience in a plant or corporate environment (chemical, refining, or manufacturing preferred).

    • Working knowledge of maintenance work management processes and systems.

    • Proficiency in Power BI, Excel (advanced), and data analytics tools are required.

    • Experience with SAP ECC required.

    • Experience with data modeling, Power Query, or SQL preferred.

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear.  The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate as normally based in an office.  Some of the work may be required in the operating units which can require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc.  May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs and elevators.
