Job Description

This is a full-time salaried position with Project Farma, a PerkinElmer company.  The successful candidate will reside in the Philadelphia, PA market and be willing to travel domestically, to meet client project requests.

The Maintenance Planning Manager is responsible for leading the development and implementation of maintenance strategies for capital projects within life sciences manufacturing environments. This role supports the development of maintenance packages and reliability programs  to establish effective asset management plans during facility design, construction, and commissioning. 

In this client-facing consulting role, the Maintenance Planning Manager collaborates with engineering teams, project leadership, and client stakeholders to ensure maintenance programs are integrated into project delivery and aligned with operational readiness requirements. Responsibilities include maintenance planning, reliability analysis, spare parts strategy, and CMMS implementation to support long-term facility operations. 

The role also contributes to Project Farma’s project delivery objectives by ensuring maintenance planning activities support successful project execution while aligning with the company’s Patient Focused and People First culture. 

Key Responsibilities 

Maintenance Strategy & Planning 

  • Develop maintenance packages and asset maintenance strategies for capital projects in accordance with client procedures, engineering standards, and project planning documentation. 

  • Lead development of maintenance plans supporting operational readiness and lifecycle asset management. 

  • Perform Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses to define preventive maintenance requirements. 

  • Identify and define spare parts requirements to support facility startup and long-term operations. 

Maintenance Package Development (MPD) 

  • Lead development and execution of Maintenance Package Development (MPD) activities for capital projects. 

  • Collect and manage project data  to support maintenance planning and documentation development. 

  • Develop maintenance planning documentation and procedures for facility assets. 

  • Support MPD planning, estimating, and project schedule development activities. 

CMMS Implementation & Data Management 

  • Ensure maintenance data is properly structured and loaded into Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS). 

  • Support CMMS configuration and asset data preparation to enable maintenance program execution. 

  • Collaborate with project teams to ensure maintenance documentation supports asset lifecycle management. 

Project Delivery & Client Collaboration 

  • Partner with engineering, commissioning, and operations teams to integrate maintenance planning into project execution. 

  • Provide project status updates, planning inputs, and budget tracking for maintenance planning activities. 

  • Ensure maintenance planning deliverables are completed in alignment with project timelines and quality expectations. 

  • Support coordination with Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) or equivalent engineering organizations responsible for capital project execution. 

Leadership & Operational Excellence 

  • Provide technical leadership and guidance related to maintenance planning and reliability engineering practices. 

  • Support development of best practices and standardized maintenance planning approaches across projects. 

  • Maintain awareness of industry standards, reliability practices, and maintenance technologies relevant to life sciences manufacturing environments. 

 

Experience Required 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Reliability Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent experience). 

  • Experience supporting capital projects within pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or life sciences manufacturing environments. 

  • Experience developing maintenance strategies, reliability programs, or asset management plans. 

  • Experience performing Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) analyses. 

  • Experience implementing or supporting CMMS systems such as Maximo, GMARS, or similar platforms. 

  • Blue Mountain and SAP PM  

 

Other Preferred  

  • Ability to travel as needed to support project delivery and client engagements. 

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills to work across engineering, maintenance, and operations teams. 

  • Experience working within GMP-regulated manufacturing environments preferred. 

  • Proven ability to support project delivery while aligning maintenance strategies with operational readiness goals.

The annual compensation range for this full-time position is $(110,000 - $160,000). The final base pay offered to the successful candidate will be determined by factors including internal equity, work location, as well as individual qualifications, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
