Description

Responsibilities:

Job Summary: As a Maintenance Planner Specialist, you'll plan, schedule, and coordinate manpower resources, parts, materials, and equipment access to support maintenance functions. You'll provide planning support to ensure reliability of equipment and processes, including optimizing maintenance processes, satisfying all safety concerns, and providing short- and long-range planning perspective that takes into consideration People, the facility, equipment, and supplies.

Key Responsibilities & Essential Functions:

  • Manages / fosters parts lifecycle / longevity practices to positively impact Total Cost of Ownership (TCO); runs related reports; identifies capital requirements and end-of-life equipment
  • Assists in setting / implementing asset management program and strategy
  • Ensures coordination and timely communication between maintenance and operations functions; approves / rejects work requests in collaboration with originator, production leaders, and maintenance leaders
  • Organizes planned shutdown events with Technology Leader, Shift Leads, Asset Management, Ops Leaders, and affected parties; coordinates with Operations Leaders on equipment scheduling / availability for maintenance
  • Manages work order backlog report; reviews equipment history for maintenance trends; identifies recurring maintenance problems; recommends improvements to maintenance program
  • Prioritizes timing of routine maintenance; recommends schedules to maintenance Leader and affected teams to ensure availability for scheduled maintenance; publishes daily / weekly maintenance priority planned work lists
  • Leads weekly maintenance scheduling meeting with Shift Leads
  • Reviews / analyzes technical data and OEM guidelines to propose and schedule component replacement
  • Collaborates with maintenance leaders to create, maintain, revise preventative maintenance specifications, corrective procedures, and SOPs; tracks PM / CM completion rates against target metrics
  • Develops reference systems (including planned job packages for recurring jobs) and an organized equipment documentation library
  • Prepares daily Maintenance Scorecard for facility meetings
  • Trains maintenance techs on work order quality / performance and maintenance management fundamentals
  • Spot-audits maintenance work order quality / performance
  • Performs Maintenance Supervisor duties as needed

Qualifications & Key Requirements:

Work Experience:

  • 5+ years of hands-on maintenance experience - Required
  • Experience working with CMMS (EAM preferred) - Preferred


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of industrial maintenance, tools, and techniques - Required
  • Comprehensive understanding of all assigned Plant systems / technology and maintenance jobs, and equipment reliability - Required
  • Clear understanding of maintenance planning activities and strategies - Required
  • Strong verbal / written communication skills - Required
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills - Required
  • Strong computer skills; proficiency in MS Office applications and EAM - Required
  • Ability to approach problems analytically - Required
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and shift focus between tasks / projects - Required
  • Ability to work independently; initiative; self-motivation - Required


Education:

  • A related degree or comparable formal training, certification, or work experience - Required


Licenses/Certifications:

 

Physical Demands & Working Conditions:

  • Work extended hours
  • Travel by car or plane with overnight stays
  • Regularly lift up to 50 lbs; occasionally lift 50 lbs or more
  • Maneuver through the facility and perform the functions of the job, with or without accommodation (standing, stooping, bending, etc.)
  • Work in wet, cold, or hot environments where temperatures may range from 30 to 100 degrees F depending on work location
