What You Will Do
The Maintenance Planner & Scheduler is responsible for planning, coordinating, and scheduling maintenance activities across high-voltage substations, transmission interconnections, and associated electrical infrastructure. This role manages preventive, predictive, corrective, and outage maintenance while ensuring compliance with company programs, regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, and industry best practices.
The position develops detailed job plans, manages work orders within the CMMS, coordinates materials and resources, and prioritizes maintenance based on equipment criticality and operational risk. Working closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and contractors, this role helps maximize system reliability and equipment availability while supporting safe, reliable power infrastructure for next-generation AI and hyperscale data center operations.
Responsibilities:
Plan and schedule preventive, predictive, corrective, and outage maintenance activities for high-voltage electrical assets.
Develop detailed work packages, job plans, procedures, labor estimates, and material requirements to ensure work is fully planned prior to execution.
Maintain and optimize preventive maintenance programs in accordance with regulatory requirements, OEM recommendations, and company standards.
Coordinate weekly maintenance planning and scheduling meetings with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and site leadership.
Publish and maintain short- and long-range maintenance schedules, providing visibility into planned work across the organization.
Prioritize maintenance activities based on equipment criticality, operational risk, reliability, and business needs.
Manage maintenance work orders, asset data, preventive maintenance templates, and equipment history within the CMMS.
Coordinate material availability, maintain maintenance Bills of Material (BOMs), and support inventory management to ensure critical spare parts are available when needed.
Monitor maintenance backlog, schedule compliance, and work completion metrics while identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Support outage planning and coordinate maintenance windows to minimize operational impacts.
Participate in root cause analyses and incorporate lessons learned into future maintenance strategies, job plans, and procedures.
Foster strong collaboration across Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, Supply Chain, and contractor partners to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable execution of work.
What We Want From You
Associate's degree in Engineering Technology, Electrical Technology, Industrial Maintenance, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Five (5) years of experience in electrical utilities, substations, power generation, transmission, industrial maintenance, or a related field.
Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) such as Maximo, SAP PM, Infor, or similar platforms.
Working knowledge of maintenance planning and scheduling principles.
Familiarity with high-voltage electrical equipment and maintenance practices
Experience planning maintenance for transmission, substations, or utility-scale power generation facilities.
Knowledge of utility maintenance programs, reliability-centered maintenance (RCM), predictive maintenance, and asset management practices.
Experience with Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or similar scheduling software.
Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP), Certified Utility Work Management, or similar credentials.
Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and coordination skills with cross-functional teams.
Ability to analyze maintenance data and make risk-based prioritization decisions.
Strong technical writing skills for developing maintenance procedures and job plans.
Working knowledge of electrical safety principles, utility maintenance practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
Self-motivated with a continuous improvement mindset and a commitment to operational excellence.
