Location: Niagara Falls, NY
Salary: $90,000 - $111,800
Schedule: 9/80 or 5 8s
The Planner will be responsible for developing job plans for maintenance-requested jobs, so the work can be executed in a safe, efficient, and effective manner per the scheduled steps listed in the job plan. The Planner will ensure that all required labor, materials, tools, and permits are identified and coordinated in advance to minimize downtime and maximize reliability. By aligning maintenance activities with production priorities and regulatory requirements, the Planner will play a key part in supporting operational continuity and asset integrity.
What You'll Do
Review work orders for completeness and return if not complete; carry out field check to verify job plan.
Identify task activities, resources, materials, tools and equipment necessary to execute a job plan safely, efficiently, and effectively; record tasks / information within the work order.
Consider constructability and maintainability when developing plans and material costs when selecting materials from specifications.
Utilize "Best Practices" where applicable during the planning process, using Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) when necessary while building proactive repair job plans to support Reliability.
Use, where possible, an archived plan for the basis of a new plan, then provide feedback and update/archive repetitive job plans (validate good data before saving).
Prepare job plan and input plan into SAP indicating the required resources, materials, and services; prepare the job package and notify all crafts to ensure a safe, quality, productive job execution
Acquire quotes for material/labor as needed for jobs being planned; work with Activity Coordinator / Gatekeeper, Scheduler, and Material Coordinator when planning requires third party (Specialty Contractor) support on dates, cost, and scheduling.
Work with the Material Coordinator after material availability has been confirmed to update code in SAP. Work to identify new dates or expedite material when needed.
Maintain the backlog based on start date provided by the Activity Coordinator / Gatekeeper, escalate when backlog is over the limit, and help others with their backlog when available
Review backlog daily for key actions: look for long delivery items to inform Material Coordinator; look for any "Grab and Go" jobs (jobs that can be done with no planning, and no or minimal disruption to operations); and for normal jobs to plan.
Attend Planner-required meetings and maintain metrics to support role improvement.
