Keep our YMCA facilities safe, welcoming, and running smoothly! We're looking for a skilled Part-Time Maintenance Mechanic to perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot repairs, and help ensure an excellent experience for our members and staff. Weekday schedule, approximately 8:00 AM–2:00 PM.POSITION SUMMARY:Perform general maintenance duties and work to keep the YMCA Community Development properties adequately maintained and clean. We are determined: above all else, we are on a relentless quest to make our community stronger beginning with you.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Use Tools Safely: Operate hand and electrical tools in a safe and knowledgeable manner.Compliance: Adhere to OSHA and YMCA of York County rules and policies, including wearing proper protective attire.Maintain Cleanliness: Keep work areas neat and clean.System Knowledge: Have a working knowledge of building water shutoffs, fire alarm systems, and sprinkler systems.Repairs: Perform minor plumbing, carpentry, and electrical repairs.HVAC Maintenance: Check A/C units and heating systems, inspect and replace filters as needed according to the routine maintenance schedule.Lighting Maintenance: Check and replace light bulbs in common areas as needed.Property Upkeep: Clean and maintain all common spaces of the property.Trash Management: Ensure the exterior of properties remains trash-free.Equipment and Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain power equipment and company vehicles, ensuring safety and that inspections and licenses are current.System Repairs: Keep plumbing, HVAC, electrical, and all building systems in good repair.Preventive Maintenance: Follow the preventive maintenance program, correcting or reporting problems, unsafe conditions, and breakdowns promptly to a supervisor.Communication: Keep the supervisor informed of equipment outages, repair delays, and departmental needs.Inspections: Prepare for, conduct, and respond to inspections by HUD, Section 8, York City Codes, and PHFA.Volunteer Management: Manage volunteer crews as needed.Policy Support: Support YMCA procedures and policies.Emergency Response: Be on call as scheduled for emergency issues and respond on-site when necessary.Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned.LEADERSHIP COMPETENCIES:Engaging CommunityCollaborationInclusionFiscal Management QUALIFICATIONS:High School diploma or general education certificateTechnical/Trade School preferredReads and interprets equipment manuals, work orders and compliance documents to perform required maintenance and service YMCA community development propertiesBasic mechanical knowledge including, but not limited to, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC.Must be able to work with minimal supervisionMust hold current valid driver's license and have a clean driving record.5 to 10 years' experience in building maintenanceWill obtain Pennsylvania State Police background checkMust have or obtain CPR and AED training within designated time periodMust have or obtain training for proper lifting within designated time periodMust have or obtain training for ladder safety within designated time periodWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
