Maintenance Mechanic Terms: Temporary role (4-5 months or longer)
Hours: 7am-4:30pm
 
About the Role
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team. In this role, you will help keep our production equipment and facility operating safely and efficiently. You'll perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, assist with installations and upgrades, and support our food safety and workplace safety programs.
Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance and repairs on processing equipment, motors, lighting, and facility systems.

  • Follow and complete preventive maintenance schedules.

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues.

  • Install and upgrade equipment and electrical systems as needed.

  • Assist with improvement projects and equipment installations.

  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and work orders.

  • Research and source parts needed for repairs and replacements.

  • Recommend equipment improvements to enhance safety, food quality, and productivity.

  • Work alongside outside contractors to ensure compliance with company and food safety standards.

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area and complete required maintenance cleanup documentation.

  • Follow all company safety policies and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous maintenance, mechanical, industrial maintenance, or manufacturing experience.

  • Must be available to work weekends, overtime, and rotating shifts when needed.
Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, climb, and reach throughout the shift.

  • Frequently lift up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.

  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moving machinery, varying temperatures, noise, odors, and airborne particles.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing setting and may be exposed to:

  • Moving mechanical equipment.

  • Heat from machinery.

  • Cold-temperature environments.

  • Airborne particles and strong odors.

  • Moderate to loud noise levels.
