Maintenance Mechanic

Job Purpose:

This person will repair and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment such as engines, motors pneumatic tools, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment by performing various duties.

Job Responsibilities:

\u25cf Support and maintain ISO 9001 activities and ensure that required processes are maintained.

\u25cf Maintain, troubleshoot, repair and general fabrication and installation of machines, tools and equipment.

\u25cf Manage the maintenance of facility, grounds and utility systems.

\u25cf Work with management to maintain waste water and other facility systems; ensuring environmental and government, city and local regulatory compliance.

\u25cf Execute Preventative Maintenance Programs on parts inventory, machinery, tools and equipment.

\u25cf Maintain and repair in accordance to diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and manufacturer's specifications, machinery, mechanical equipment, motors

\u25cf Perform other duties and/or responsibilities as requested.

Additional Responsibilities & Qualifications:

• Observes mechanical devices in operation and listens to their sounds to locate causes of trouble.
• Dismantles devices to gain access to and remove defective parts.
• Examines form and texture or parts to detect imperfections.
• Inspects used parts to determine changes in dimensional requirements.
• Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
• Repairs or replaces defective parts. Installs special functional and structural parts in devices. Lubricates and cleans parts.
• Starts devices to test their performance.
• Sets up and operates lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiates purchase request for parts and machines. Repairs electrical equipment.
• Performs other duties and/ or responsibilities as assigned.
• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)
• Proficient Math and English skills
• Demonstrated competence in secretarial skills (typing, computer, word processor, copier, facsimile machine and general clerical)
• Minimum 1-2 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Strong customer service and telephone communication skills.
• Upbeat and friendly personality.
• Ability to write correspondence.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
• Ability to operate various office machines and computers. o Bi-lingual preferred, but not required (ability to speak Spanish).
• Proficient in computer applications and software (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point).
• Candidates should have their own tools.

Work Experience:

\u25cf 3-5 years of related job experience.

\u25cf Ability to manage multiple projects, work under pressure, and adapt to sudden changes in the work environment.

\u25cf Ability to work quickly and efficiently.

\u25cf Must be highly motivated, flexible and deadline driven.

Education:

\u25cf High School Diploma Preferred
