    Position Overview

    The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing preventative maintenance (PMs) and repairs on automated equipment, including AC/DC motors, pumps, PLC/controls, pneumatics, hydraulics, electrical systems, conveyors, and trolleys in an FDA-regulated environment. This role works closely with cross-functional teams such as Maintenance, Safety, Operations, and Quality to meet business objectives and production requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Execute assigned preventative maintenance activities, including creating and updating documentation.

    • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to minimize downtime.

    • Assist operations with equipment changeovers as needed.

    • Maintain adequate inventory of parts and supplies.

    • Coordinate changeover timing with planning, warehouse teams, and vendors.

    • Maintain work areas to required standards and perform housekeeping activities.

    • Follow all environmental, health, and safety procedures.

    • Comply with quality and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) guidelines.

    • Support general building maintenance to meet GMP and OSHA standards.

    • Prioritize maintenance activities based on production scheduling and demands.

    • Perform other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    Required:

    • High School Diploma or GED.

    • 3+ years of experience maintaining and repairing automated equipment, including mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic controls.

    • Knowledge of and adherence to GMP standards.

    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

    • Knowledge of safety procedures and ability to follow them consistently.

    • Physical ability to climb, bend, kneel, lift 50 pounds, and work at heights.

    • On-call availability for nights and weekends.

    • Proficiency with Microsoft or Google Suite, SAP, or similar systems.

    • Familiarity with food safety regulations (AIB, FDA, USDA, cGMP).

    Preferred:

    • 3+ years electromechanical experience.

    • Experience in food safetyregulated environments.

    • Technical certification or degree in machining, HVAC, electromechanics, or related field.

    Key Competencies

    • Strong mechanical aptitude.

    • Electrical knowledge.

    • Pneumatics and hydraulics expertise.

    • Controls experience (preferred).
