Position Summary
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and optimizing production and packaging equipment used in the bottling process. This role plays a critical part in ensuring equipment reliability, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall production efficiency while maintaining all safety and quality standards. This is a night shift position.
Equipment may include fillers, cappers, labelers, conveyors, palletizers, blow molders, and associated production systems.

Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Previous manufacturing maintenance experience preferred (2+ years)
- Mechanical troubleshooting skills in a production environment
- Ability to work a flexible schedule and overtime as needed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Basic computer proficiency; Excel experience preferred
- Ability to read, understand, and interpret documents, work orders, and operating procedures
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Basic math skills
- Forklift experience or certification preferred
- Ability to stand, walk, climb, and work in an industrial environment for extended periods
- Ability to safely lift, carry, and move materials as required
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain production equipment in accordance with established procedures and specifications
- Operate and troubleshoot blow molding equipment
- Perform preventive maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime
- Diagnose mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical issues and complete repairs in a timely manner
- Respond quickly to production issues to minimize downtime
- Lead and support equipment changeovers
- Perform routine inspections and identify potential maintenance concerns
- Maintain and carry required tools and communication equipment during shifts
- Assist in training and developing new team members
- Perform basic cleaning and housekeeping of maintenance and production equipment
- Ensure production equipment operates efficiently while producing high-quality products
- Follow and promote Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), food safety standards, and plant safety policies
- Report equipment failures, injuries, safety concerns, and production incidents immediately to leadership
- Support continuous improvement initiatives and process optimization efforts
- Rotate job assignments as needed to support operational requirements
Food Safety, GMP & PPE Requirements
Employees working in production areas are responsible for following and enforcing all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and food safety standards.
Required PPE and GMP compliance may include:
- Hairnets and beard nets (when applicable)
- Safety glasses
- Hearing protection
- Additional PPE as required by the task or work area
Employees must follow all standard operating procedures, quality checks, and food safety requirements. This position is expected to support and maintain Premium Waters' commitment to quality and compliance with SQF and food safety programs.
