Description

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery and industrial equipment in a manufacturing environment. The role requires strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills, the ability to read blueprints and schematics, and working knowledge of PLC systems and diagnostics. The mechanic will work closely with machine operators, vendors, and OEMs to identify equipment issues, replace defective components, minimize downtime, and maintain accurate equipment documentation.

Job Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Work from blueprints, schematics, sketches, equipment service manuals, samples and general instructions.
  • Troubleshoot equipment or processes not operating as intended to determine cause and corrective action.
  • Disassemble equipment, remove and replace defective parts.
  • Work with machine operators to understand equipment problems and attend to them.
  • Repairs equipment
  • Maintain equipment documentation.
  • Communicates/coordinates verbally and or electronically with OEM’s and other vendors as required.
  • Other duties as may be assigned.

  • EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
  • Vocational school or training or equivalent work experience and (3) years practical experience.
