Maintenance Mechanic, Level 1

JOB SUMMARY:

Maintenance Mechanic Level I is responsible for the daily mechanical operations of the hospital-owned buildings, physical plant and grounds. Licensed to maintain high-pressure boiler and associated equipment. Additional work to be performed as needed to ensure smooth operation of hospital facility. Willing to train the right candidate.

Compensation:

• $25.25/hr + DOE
• Shift Differentials

FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Inspection repair, trouble-shooting and preventive maintenance of electrical plumbing HVAC systems.
2. Operation, inspection, repair and preventive maintenance of machinery, tools, law equipment.
3. Upkeep, repair, and remodeling of physical structures using hand tools, power tools, and carpentry tools.
4. Support of fire suppression systems and application of fire safety practices.
5. Completion of work orders, folders and paperwork to document maintenance and repairs.
6. Any additional related duties as assigned by the Plant Supervisor or Plant Operations Manager.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILIITES:

1. Delivery of supplies, furniture equipment to departments in and out of the building.
2. Collection of garbage and hazardous waste.
3. Be available for work outside of scheduled shifts.
4. Assist housekeeping with floor care and other miscellaneous assignments as required.

QUALIFICATIONS (REQUIRED):

1. High School diploma or equivalent.
2. Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.

Maintains a current 3rd Class Boiler’s License, or able to obtain within 6 months.
